If I donate care equipment do I get any money?

As we are a not-for-profit organisation all of the profit made from the sale of the donated care equipment goes to support care workers, older people and their families and the local community. We will however come and pick up the care equipment free of charge if it is within 25 miles of Lichfield.

What criteria do I need to meet to be eligible for a Care Worker Grant?

If you can evidence, you are an unpaid carer in the UK. An unpaid carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health condition or an addiction cannot cope without their support.

If you can evidence, you are an employed as a care worker in the UK social care sector in a role that is involved in or supports the provision of adult, elderly or disability care, such as:

• Residential social care
• Domiciliary / home care
• Supported living care
• Day care
• Private care

What criteria do I need to meet to be eligible for an Older Person Grant?

You need to be 70 years old or older and live in the UK. If you fall outside this eligibility please see our other resources that might be helpful.

Do you take my finances into account when assessing my application?

Yes. We must ensure the grants go to people who really need them. Therefore, you must hit the following financial thresholds:

• Applicants must not be over 25% of the Minimum Income Standard (MIS).
• Applicants must have household savings less than £3,000 for a single adult household or £6,000 for a couple.

How long does it take Grace Cares to assess a grant application?

Our board of trustees meet four times a year to assess and process any submitted applications. Please ensure all the relevant documentation has been submitted.
