Grace Cares are unable to collect small care equipment items such as walkers, zimmer frames, toilet frames and commodes.

Drop it to the Grace Cares Hub

The best solution is to drop your donation to the Grace Cares Hub any time between 10-3 Monday to Friday. You can find directions here.

Drop it to a HWRC in Staffordshire

If this isn’t convenient you can also drop your donation to any of the 12 HWRC (Household Waste Recycling Centres) sites in Staffordshire – this is through our MediCycle Scheme partnership with Staffordshire County Council. You can find all the HWRC locations here.

Less than 10 miles away? See if we are able to collect

We try to collect big and bulky care equipment (such as rise and recliner chairs, beds, electric wheelchairs and scooters) that is within 10 miles of our headquarters in Lichfield for free – but this service is currently run by volunteers (but we are fundraising to try and ensure this service is regularly avaliable). At the moment you might meet our Co-founder Adam, retired Ambulance man John or retired builder Lawrence. In terms of collection and waste disposal, our team are Safe Contractor approved, CHAS accredited, have the Environmental Agency waste carrier license and are fully insured.

Of course we can potentially collect care equipment that is further than 10 miles away – but this will require us having a chinwag first!

Please note: Unfortunately for health and safety reasons we can only take working equipment and any furniture donations need to have the fire label and not be over a certain age due to the use of persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
