Firstly in case no one has told you today, we think you do an amazing job and we really appreciate what you do.  If you are in need of our support we will do what we can to help you.

Please note that our funding is currently limited, the maximum grant available is £350 and will be based on a first come first served basis. Although you may apply for funding, you are not guaranteed a grant BUT we promise we will try our best to support you in any other ways we can. If you are awarded funding you will then be unable to apply again for another 24 months to ensure we help as many people as possible.

We have been known to source items needed by people who have come to us (such as washing machines and fridge freezers) free of charge through our friends at The Clear Out Co. We can also offer help to access support, such as signposting people to other support channels.

 

To be eligible for an Unpaid Caregiver Grant to support you with the cost of care equipment or cost of living, you must be an unpaid caregiver in the UK caring for:

  • Someone over 70
  • Delivering over 10 hours of care a week

We do not provide financial assistance for:

  • Debts – consumer credit/debt repayments, payday loans, overdraft fees, rent arrears
  • Legal fees and costs of legal representation
  • Payment of fines
  • House purchase
  • Private medical treatment
  • Private education
  • Higher education course fees

 

Before you apply, please make sure that you can provide us with your evidence documents. We are unable to award any grant without the following:

  • If employed evidence of employment (either in the NHS, a care home or a home care setting).
  • If an unpaid carer evidence of providing care.
  • A letter to support your application: This letter must be addressed to Grace Cares and should outline why you require the grant, how much money you require and what you will do with the money. The person writing the support letter must be a professional, such as your manager at work, Citizens Advice Bureau officer, doctor, debt advisor or housing support worker.
  • An invoice from where you are wanting to spend the grant money outlining the company, the cost and the service / product. Please be aware that if your application is successful any grant money will be paid directly to the company where you want the service or product.
  • A recent bank statement: This needs to show your account name, sort code and account number.

You can also provide anything additional you feel will make your application stronger. Some people find it easier to send a video to explain the need for the grant.
