Donation Options for Care Equipment Beyond 10 Miles of Grace Cares Hub 💚

If you’d like to donate your pre-loved care equipment to Grace Cares, here are your options:

• You can arrange transport to bring it to our hub in Lichfield at your cost.
• We can arrange transport to bring it to our hub in Lichfield at your cost.
• If you can ensure there is a transit sized van load of items we can come and pick these up at your cost for fuel and travel.
• You could pool resources with other local care providers or via your local care association for a storage container where you could work together to fill this for pick up – you could also offer this as a place for the local community to bring their unwanted care equipment.
• If you have a relationship with your Local Authority could you get us a meeting? We currently have a partnership with Staffordshire County Council where all 14 HWRC (Household Waste Recycling Centres) have storage containers for Grace Cares for the local community to donate. This could be another potential option to explore.

This is cheaper than:

• The cost of sending items to the Ukraine or other countries – this will also incur less mileage and carbon footprint.
• On average, skip hire in the UK costs around £125 to £320 per week. Depending on the option you choose this could be a more cost effective solution.

Other benefits:

• We can also discuss the use of a tracker to analyse the carbon footprint output in getting the items to Grace Cares and give you a cost to offset.
• We can also discuss producing an impact report based on 
  • the carbon you have saved by putting the care equipment back into the circular economy and not landfill
  • The social good and outputs achieved by the funds raised via your donated pre-loved care equipment which will either be:
    • Hardship grants for health and social care workers
    • Local community activities – such a sustainable activities within a care provision
• We can also discuss training and support on effective sustainability and ESG for care providers.
• If you reach over a certain amount of carbon footprint saved via your donation and/or purchase you will be awarded the Grace Cares Caring For Tomorrow mark for that year.
